st_illunsmeared: (aristocrat)
Phryne Fisher ([personal profile] st_illunsmeared) wrote 2017-03-27 03:34 am (UTC)

"The Honourable Miss, properly," Phryne replied without anything resembling propriety, unless it was propriety for a very expensive courtesan. She gestured, beckoning him to enter, and smiled. "I'm neither yours, nor a Baroness, to be given the title Lady. That would be my mother."

Quite obviously, Phryne didn't care, but found it amusing to instruct him on the points of courtesy that he'd so obviously mimicked for the occasion. "Phryne will do nicely. Miss Fisher, if you prefer the more formal." Although now, whenever she heard 'Miss Fisher' from someone other than Jack, it had begun to sound oddly impertinent.
